• Eczema Care with Gladskin

‘Tis the season for dry skin. You know the drill. The weather gets cooler, and our hands get drier. Not only are the cooler temperatures causing dry skin, but also the more frequent hand washing as germ season gets underway. Those of us with eczema prone skin are in for double the discomfort.

I received this product for free from Moms Meet (momsmeet.com) to use and post my honest opinions. Compensation for this post was provided and this page may contain affiliate links.

There are several members of my family that struggle with eczema. It has been a tough battle to get it under control so they aren’t miserable. Finding a cream that works best is a struggle. I have gone through so many creams and prescriptions to try and get my daughters some relief. So much money has gone down the drain. As a mother, I have been extremely frustrated and felt incredibly helpless. It was bad enough to see them uncomfortable when they were infants and toddlers. But now, as they have grown up, we have the added emotional aspect to it. It is embarrassing to them to have large, red, dry patches of skin that is always itchy. It’s hard to resist scratching it, which only draws more attention to it. We knew that something needed to change, and I was feeling desperate.

Gladskin Eczema Cream is a first-of-its-kind cream, formulated with Micreobalance (a patented smart protein) that keeps bad bacteria in check to bring balance back to the skin microbiome. WHAT! I have never seen a product that works to restore your skin microbiome. Micreobalance is their star ingredient, and what makes it so different. By now, you all know how I feel about taking care of our microbiomes. Gladskin with Micreobalance rebalances the good and bad bacteria that naturally live on the skin as it moisturizes. This means that gladskin is leaving the good bacteria untouched while defending against the bad bacteria. This is music to my microbiome-loving ears.

Using clean products on our skin has been the best way to manage eczema flares. Gladskin eczema cream has no fragrance, no drying alcohols, no parabens, no steroids, and no sulfates. I don’t know about you, but I personally want to avoid using steroid creams on my children whenever possible. Gladskin cream is dermatologist recommended and clinically tested. It’s safe for long term use. Other eczema products are either only aimed at managing symptoms after a flare or don’t take yours, or your child’s, health into account holistically. There are no withdrawal reactions when you stop using it.

I love that there is a recommendation to store the product in your refrigerator so that it lasts longer. This is always a good sign of real ingredients as promised. The recommendation is that the product is good for three months from purchase if stored at room temperature, or until the date stamped on the package if kept in the fridge. Mine is stamped with 4/22, just so you get a clear picture of how long you know it is good for. The effects of a cool moisture cream on dry skin are so, so comforting.

My daughters that battle eczema often get flares where their skin creases. The backs of their knees and the bends of their elbows are where we fight eczema the most often. One of my daughters has been in the midst of a flare. She will scratch her skin until she bleeds. We applied Gladskin eczema cream, and she exclaimed “it already looks better!” She felt relief immediately. If you have children that fight with eczema, or you fight with it yourself, you know that most creams burn very badly when applied to the dry and broken skin. That was not the case with this cream. There was no pain or discomfort, just blissful relief.

We live on a homestead. I am HARD on my hands. They are in the garden, cleaning out chicken coops, and baking a lot of bread. I wash my hands frequently, and they show it. It’s like leather. It gets exceptionally dry and painful. This cream was a dream. It went on so thick and creamy. Even an hour later, my skin still felt moisturized, but not greasy or gross. It feels so luxurious, which is a real treat.

You should apply the eczema cream at least twice per day on and around the eczema prone areas. Most people see results in the first few days, but it could take up to three weeks of daily application to see the results. Staying consistent will give you the best results. Man, that fits everything in life, doesn’t it?

Gladskin can be used safely on the most sensitive skin– even your eyelids! It is proven safe and effective on children as young as three months old. Gladskin is non-toxic. It is formulated to work with the nature of you and/or your child’s skin, not against it. You can apply it as often as you like, and it can be used with your other products. Just apply it first and give it five minutes before you apply anything else. Basically, it is incredible, and I may be the new president of Gladskin’s fan club.

Gladskin also has many other products that also support the microbiome-balancing work that Gladskin eczema cream does. These products also do not contain any harsh ingredients or preservatives that most cleansers contain. They are all non-drying products that leave your skin feeling clean without feeling dry or tight. You know that feeling. You MUST try the shampoo bar. My hair is below my waist. That’s over two feet of thick hair, if you don’t know. I LOVE the shampoo bar! I have been trying to find a shampoo that doesn’t dry my scalp, but still cleans my hair. I finally found it with Gladskin’s shampoo bar. Plus, I am not wasting another huge plastic container of shampoo. It’s a win all around.

Head on over and get yourself some luxurious eczema cream, or try out a shampoo bar for yourself. You can save 10% on your order at gladskin.com when you enter the code GLADMOM10 at checkout. Code expires 3/31/22.

**In some rare cases, first-time Gladskin users may see temporarily slightly increased eczema symptoms. Any discomfort should be mild and not last longer than the first 10 days. This is often a sign that the cream is beginning to work as it rebalances the skin’s microbiome. This is not something that we experienced, but something that I do feel you should be aware of.

  • Black and White on a Budget

I am re-posting this because it didn’t transfer from my old blog!

I love the monochromatic look. I love black and white baby and kid rooms, but they  usually are full of completely out-of-my-price-range products. I thought I’d put together a list of really awesome black and white products from Amazon so your nursery can look like this without breaking the bank.

swaddles // crib sheets // changing pad covers // cloud crib sheet // boppy cover // pacifier clips  // burp cloths // storage baskets // laundry hamper // humidifier (worth every penny) // sleep sack // crib// swaddle wrap // house tissue box cover // hedgehog night light //

Amazon is my favorite way to shop. I love using Swagbucks to earn Amazon gift cards– which really helps me stay on budget. That is how I was able to buy some new things when I was pregnant with Harper.  We all know that babies are expensive, and I hope this helps you find some great baby items on a budget!

All Amazon links are affiliate links. This does not change the cost of your item, but a small portion of your purchase does go to me. Thank you for supporting me as I support my family.
  • Miss Fong Bag Review

Hey, friends! I wanted to share a really functional new bag that I found.

I have been on the hunt for a cheap bag that I could use for my kids, but also just for myself. I have a really lovely handbag that Scott bought for my birthday last year, and I carry it everywhere. Sometimes, I need something a little bigger. When I’m going grocery shopping and have my notebook with my shopping list and massive coupon folder, for example. Or, when I am running to one of the many doctor, dentist, ophthalmologist, etc. appointments for my kiddos. I need space for books and entertainment to keep the kiddos somewhat calm and quiet in the many waiting rooms.

Enter, the Miss Fong bag. This bag is sold as a diaper bag, but functions really well in so many other ways. Below, you can see the inside. There are several pockets around the outside of the bag, including two insulated pockets if you need them. There is still a ton of room to add children’s books, a change of clothes, snacks, and other things I may carry for my older children.

What I love about this bag is that the inside is completely wipeable. Should I spill something inside or get crumbs everywhere I can clean it easily. This bag is nylon on the outside. It looks really beautiful. It’s awesome because I can dunk the whole bag in soapy water and wash it! I spill my coffee pretty often, so the nylon is brilliant. It is currently out of stock, but the other bags are completely wipeable on the outside so you really can’t go wrong with any of them.

There are plenty of exterior pockets to keep my keys and hand sanitizer easy to access. There is also a large back pocket as you can see in the picture below. You can fit a tablet in there, or remove the backpack straps or messenger strap and store them inside. It also has this genius zipper across the bottom so that you can open it up and slide it on your suitcase handle for travel.

Every feature of this bag is so well thought out. It is very comfortable to wear messenger style and backpack style. I am so impressed with the quality for the price. I didn’t want to spend a fortune on a bag, but I also wanted something that would last. I feel like this fits the bill for both.

If you are on the market for one of these bags, be sure to check on each color. Many of them have coupons that you can clip for additional savings. I got mine for a really great price that way!! I never pay full price for anything!

  • Amazon Favorites- Baby Edition

    Amazon Baby Faves
Here are my favorite Amazon baby purchases. These are all things I actually have ordered from Amazon and LOVED. I’m out of the baby phase now, but I still remember the things that helped make my life easier. Especially since I didn’t have to leave my house with a baby to get them.
Cloth Diapers // This was the brand I had the most of. They are affordable and work well. Honestly, my favorite was for sure the BumGenius, but the Alvababy are much more wallet friendly at half the price. I had a couple of BumGenius, but at least ten Alvababy.
Teether // These are the best. I love the size and shape. They are so good.
Balm! Baby // This is the greatest chest rub. It works so well, and doesn’t have all of the yucky ingredients. It’s also in a glass jar, so once it’s empty you can repurpose it! Or, you can choose the stick version and be mess free!
Sound Machine // This has a lot of sound options to choose from and also projects three different themes of pictures on the ceiling. It looks really cute, too. Love, love it.
Humidifier // This humidifier is THE BEST. If you read the reviews, you see people complaining that it soaks everything around it. You have to adjust the output. Don’t put it on full blast. If we need that much moisture in the air, then I put towels around it just to be safe. You will want (sometimes NEED) one in the winter months especially.
Stroller // If you haven’t heard me rave about this stroller, you probably are new around here. I had other strollers with my older kids, but never loved them. The Baby Jogger glides so smoothly. It turns on a dime, looks sleek, and is just all around great. I still use it for my four year old!
Stroller hooks // I love these for hanging my diaper bag from the stroller. You can also attach them to your shopping cart so your bag doesn’t take up even more space. They are wonderful and easy to use.
Swaddle blankets // These are my favorite baby blankets. They are huge, light weight, but don’t take up tons of space. They are so soft and breathable. There are loads of prints and patters available to choose from.
Tula // I loved this carrier. It was comfortable for baby and myself. Tulas come in tons of fun colors and prints.

  • Kick Some Booty Rash

I received this product for free from Moms Meet (momsmeet.com) to use and post my honest opinions. Compensation for this post was provided and this page may contain affiliate links

When I found out that I was pregnant the first time, I felt a little overwhelmed. I was 21 years old and had been married for a year and a half. I was THRILLED because I had always dreamed of being a mom. But I was also filled with so many questions. What brand of diapers is best? How do I feed this human? What if she hates me? What if I never sleep again? Are you really going to let her come home with me? I have no idea what I am doing!
I remember creating our registry. Scott and I took the list that Babies R Us (may they rest in peace) was nice enough to give us for guidance, and went to town. We scanned things that looked cute. Then, we got to the diaper aisle. Good grief. I literally scanned a bunch of the brand of diapers with the cutest designs. Diaper cream? “Butt paste sounds funny.” My sister said she liked it for her daughter. Ok, we’ll go with that. And that, my friends, is the story of how Boudreaux’s butt paste became our brand of choice for the past eight years. EIGHT YEARS! I actually dug through old pictures to find where we had Boudreaux’s Butt Paste in the background. Here’s baby Chloe almost eight years ago. It’s such a fuzzy picture, but you can see the “vintage” label.
    butt paste also
All because of the eye catching name, we have had Boudreaux’s Butt Paste in our home for all of these years.  While the labels may change, the product is still amazing. Now, our youngest is mostly potty trained. She still wears a pull-up at night. Because of her sensitive skin, she still gets diaper rash. We still use Boudreaux’s butt paste in those situations. I love the rash kicking kit because of the incredible butt brush.

I know what you are thinking. “Is it really that difficult to just use your fingers to putt diaper cream on?” No, it’s not. But, it is a heck of a lot nicer to use the butt brush and be able to continue putting pajamas on without worrying about smearing diaper cream everywhere! This mess-free silicone applicator helps parents, like me, to gently apply a thick and smooth coat of Butt Paste® on baby’s booty to form a protective barrier from wetness. It has a really cool suction cup so that you can stick it to the top of your wipes container while you finish diaper changes.

Thanks to my nephew for his cute tush and toes.

Here is some information about Boudreaux’s butt paste that I did not know:
Created by a pharmacist and father of four, Boudreaux’s Butt Paste® was born from the need for an effective and safe solution to treat diaper rash. Made specifically for parents who don’t want to settle for anything less than the best, it uses a combination of efficacious ingredients that allow it to be tough on rash and gentle on cheeks. Boudreaux’s Butt Paste® is formulated without dyes, parabens, preservatives, phthalates and talc. Parents rely on this trusted and pediatrician-recommended diaper rash to help soothe and relieve rash discomfort from the first use and beyond. Boudreaux’s® is part of C.B. Fleet Company, Incorporated, Consumer Healthcare Company.

You can buy your own rash kicking kit over on Amazon! The rash kicking kit comes with the butt brush, original, and maximum strength butt paste. If you try it, be sure to leave an honest review! I am sure you will love it as much as we do!

  • Mama & Little Love

I am a huge supporter of small businesses. I have mentioned MANY times on Instagram that I love Mama & Little teething jewelry. All of their necklaces are adorable, and they have bracelets and bangles that don’t clang around every time you move your arm. Best of all, they are perfectly safe for Harper, my one-year-old, to chew on. They are the ORIGINAL teething jewelry company, and the best!
