My Life in Boxes

My husband came up with that title. Isn’t he creative?
That feels what life has been for the past couple of months. We have been packing boxes. Lots and lots of boxes. We have been unpacking boxes.  My poor girls are so sick of boxes. Addison came down with a stomach bug and was sick all through our second night here. I wasn’t feeling so great yesterday and ended up sleeping for 4 hours in the middle of the day. We both are feeling so much better today.
We had our first Wednesday with our new student ministry. These teenagers are awesome. Seeing them leading worship for their group is mind blowing. They were so uplifting to me, and I really cannot wait to see what God is going to do with each and every one of them.
I wanted to give a little bit of an update/rundown of what is going on here.
Here is a tour of our finished rooms:

Apartment living as a family of 5 is going to be interesting. We don’t have the storage space that we once had, so we are trying to downsize as much as possible. It has my brain feeling a little bit fried. We have a ton of extra bath products, clothing, etc. Thankfully there are tons of shelves in each closet that we can store boxes on. Our kitchen table is WAY too big for the space that we have, so we are shopping for a small, and cheap one. We LOVE our original table, so we are storing it for the time being. Hopefully we can find something with a bench that can be tucked under the table. Plus, there is the whole “my kids are insanely loud” aspect of it all.
Our plan is to live in this apartment for a year, and then find a house that fits our needs better once we learn about the area more. We are saving a LOT of money by renting an apartment verses a house, so we will be able to pay off debt and get into a much better place financially. I am very excited about that. I am also excited that this apartment is ours. We aren’t living in anyone’s basement and relying on others to take care of us.
God has so richly blessed us. We were given a mind-blowing love offering by our FBT family, which has allowed us to be able to purchase these much-needed items without stress. We stopped at Ikea on our way here and found a really nice make-shift pantry that is super sturdy and gave us some storage for our tiny kitchen.
Our new church family has a grocery cart FULL of non-perishable items for us to fill our new home with. They also have had people set up to bring us meals for our first few nights so that we don’t have to worry about cooking. I am telling you, I just can’t even process all of the blessings. December was the most terrifying month of my life. We were facing having no income, no home..nothing.. and still having three little mouths to feed.
These blessings are not lost on me. The magnitude of it all is not lost on me. I am tired exhausted and overwhelmed. But, so incredibly blessed.
I will hopefully find all of my marbles and put together a more streamlined post. But, for now you get my random ramblings. I hope that everyone has an awesome weekend!!
